SE Michigan Vintage Computer Club - Full 2027 Schedule, Review of 2026's Goals
Greetings friends!
October 17th, 2026 will wrap up another great SEMVCC season, that means we get to plan for next year (that makes me think of the scene from Elf where Santa announces it's time to plan for next Christmas and all the children cheer... but I digress). And to stick with last year's formula, I (and the planning team) went ahead and researched all of the neighboring events in the area for 2027 and grabbed four dates that do not interfere.
After this October's SEMVCC and November's Detroit Retro Gaming Show (more on this soon), I'll start sending out feelers to potential special guests for 2027.
Here's our planned schedule for 2027.
- January 16th, 2027 - TBD
- April 17th, 2027 - Our 4th Annual SEMVCC Swap Meet
- July 24th, 2027 - TBD
- October 16th, 2027 - TBD
-Review of 2026's Goals-
We had some really ambitious goals for 2026 and planned for nearly $1,000 of extra expenses. Those were probably a bit too ambitious though.
Of 2026's goals, we hit on the following:
- Acquire high quality, heavy-duty extension cables.
- These were donated by Andy of the Detroit Retro Gaming Show! We ended up with (3) 100 ft, (3) 50 ft and (2) 25 ft cables, totaling about $400 worth of extension cables. Thanks Andy!
The 2026 goals we missed out on was the following:
- Donation of (8) eight ft. rectangular tables for Grace Chapel.
- However, we donated a projector for the church's youth room and did some electrical work within the church free of charge.
- Better wi-fi router.
- Wi-fi extenders were donated though and will bolster better coverage in the gymnasium.
-2027 Goals-
- A better wi-fi router.
- An official membership program (reviewing options).
- See if SEMVCC can further support Grace Chapel Waterford for their generosity.
As always, your donations are super helpful and appreciated! SEMVCC has continued to operate free of charge due to the generosity of multiple members and of course, Retro Rewind.
If you have vintage hardware that might require repair or recapping, reach out to Frank and Jason at https://www.retrorewind.ca. They also produce some top notch solutions for your Commodore 64, 128, Plus 4, C16, Amiga as well as Tandy Color Computer systems.
And if you used the promo code "CC10" at checkout (after you create a Retro Rewind account), you can save yourself 10% on your entire purchase.
Our first three years have gone by incredibly fast, but I'm looking forward to many many more! Thanks for making SEMVCC what it is!
Sincerely,
Adam of SEMVCC and Anecdotage Media.
